It is my pleasure to announce that David Still has joined Greylock Partners as an Executive in Residence. David has helped build some of today’s most widely used mobile products, including Box, Skype and Yahoo, and brings a very unique expertise to the firm.
The consumerization of IT is one of the most important trends to impact IT and enterprise software. Since the iPhone was introduced in 2007, smartphones have dramatically changed the way we work. People are running their businesses from their phone and tablets, and their expectations of enterprise applications have changed. User experience has become a critical priority as consumers expect the software they use at work to be just as delightful and easy-to-use as the mobile apps they use at home.
The decision for David to join Greylock stemmed from our conversations around his passion and our common interest: how mobile is changing the way we work. David comes from Box, where he was the vice president of product and managed the team that worked on end-user products, with a focus on the main Box file sync and share app as well as Box Notes and Box Capture. Prior, he was at Skype where he focused on the company’s mobile products, growing its mobile user base from 10 to 100 million. He previously worked at Bubbly and Good Technology on their mobile messaging products, and started working in mobile at Yahoo over 15 years ago (working on WAP and TTS technology!).
I am thrilled and honored to have him on board. As an EIR, David will consult with our portfolio companies on product and business strategy and work with the partners to explore new opportunities related to mobility, communications and productivity.
