Since we joined the Nextdoor team, we have been amazed by the number of people who have made new connections and helped their neighbors in over 12,500 neighborhoods nationwide. The team has continued to build a deeper and more engaging experience for neighbors to interact. Like many of Nextdoor’s members, we too have been asking (or begging) for a mobile app. Today, the first version for iPhone has arrived. Download it and check it out here.
We’ve been using the Nextdoor App during its development, and we think it amplifies all of the reasons we first fell in love with Nextdoor. Rather than just something you visit occasionally, you now have access to your neighborhood at all times, literally in the palm of your hand.
When you are out in your neighborhood and, for example, spot a lost dog, you can immediately take a picture and share it with your neighbors. When someone sends an urgent alert about suspicious activity, you’ll receive it immediately on your phone. If you meet a neighbor and want to tell them about Nextdoor, you don’t have to describe it — you can just pull out your phone and show them.
One of our favorite Nextdoor stories recently took place in Josh’s neighborhood. A boy dropped his homework on his walk to school. Another mom found the homework and posted to Nextdoor. The homework was turned in safely within the hour.
With Nextdoor, we believe that as neighborhoods worldwide become connected, they will also become safer and healthier. Now that the power of Nextdoor will be in your pocket, we can’t wait to see what comes next and hear the stories that happen because of it.
