Director of Marketing
Erika Brown joined Greylock Partners in 2009 as the director of marketing. At Greylock she manages communications and assists the firm with establishing strategic relationships in the entrepreneurial community. She is also a key adviser to Greylock portfolio companies.
Previously Erika was the director of marketing and business development at Matrix Partners and spent more than ten years as a writer with
Forbes. In 1997 Erika joined the New York office of
Forbes magazine, where she researched and wrote about entrepreneurs and executives in the software, Internet and venture capital industries for the
Forbes 400 List of wealthiest Americans.
In 2000 Erika moved to
Forbes’ Silicon Valley bureau to cover the dramatic tales that were unfolding during the tech meltdown and published a book with McGraw-Hill entitled
High Tech Titans. Erika penned eight cover stories for
Forbes magazine and wrote feature stories about entrepreneurs and venture capitalists. She also ran the
Forbes Midas List, the Top 100 Dealmakers in Tech, for six years and wrote a column called “Everything Ventured” for
Forbes.com. She was an associate editor when she left the publication.
Prior to joining
Forbes Erika worked in Manhattan at Morgen-Walke Associates, an investor relations firm (since acquired). While there, Erika assisted publicly traded companies with communicating to their shareholders.
Erika grew up in New York and graduated from the State University of New York at Albany, where she majored in English and minored in business.
