Simon Rothman is an Executive in Residence at Greylock Partners.

Prior to joining Greylock Simon was Founder and Global Vice President of eBay Motors, a division of eBay that nationalized the used car market. Within 6 ½ years Simon built eBay Motors into a $14 billion a year global business contributing a third of eBay’s total global merchandise sales, attracting over 12 million monthly US visitors, and generating 1 billion monthly page views ranking it the number one automotive marketplace in the world and a top 10 ecommerce property.

In addition to founding and running eBay Motors, Simon was responsible for eBay’s US Operations. The $10 billion business unit covered the P&Ls for all US categories except media. Businesses included cars, collectibles, fashion, home, toys, tickets, travel, and all new businesses.

Before founding eBay Motors, Simon worked for several years as a strategy consultant at McKinsey & Company. He has also founded an ecommerce company, invests and advises consumer start-ups, and has been issued 2 United States patents.

Simon holds a Master of Business Administration from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
