Former Entrepreneur in Residence
Evan Tana is the co-founder of Sparks, a mobile startup that aims to host conversations about stuff people love to talk about such as sports, television, and politics. Before this, he was an Entrepreneur in Residence at Greylock Partners.
Prior to joining Greylock, Evan was Vice President of Product Management at shopkick, a Greylock portfolio company that aims to transform the way we shop in the offline world. He was responsible for product management, design leadership, content merchandising, quality assurance and customer service. He was part of the founding team that launched the revolutionary service in 2010 that rewards shopping across a retail network that includes thirteen nationwide chains such as Target, Best Buy, Macy's, and CVS. By the end of 2012, 4 million shoppers had joined and walked into stores over 10 million times, collected over 1 billion kicks (reward points) and drove a total over over $300 million in revenue for its retail partners.
Before launching shopkick, Evan led product at Loopt, a ground-breaking social mapping service that launched in 2006 and became one of the first consumer mobile services featured prominently by Apple. He also was a product manager at Digital Chocolate, a publisher of mobile games and applications.
Evan earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Management Science & Engineering from Stanford, where he was a Mayfield Fellow. Evan was born and raised in San Francisco, CA, where his loyalty to Bay Area sports runs deep.
